Biography
Martin turned professional with the Cervélo Test Team in 2009. Wining the German Championship in his hometown Cottbus is his favourite moment on a bicycle. At the end of 2011, Martin decided to retire, as he needed a mental break from the cycling world. After six months in the real world, he missed riding his bike and started training again. Some of his major results include being crowned German National Road Champion in 2009, and finishing third in the Tour of Britain and second on a stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. He can hold his own in bunch sprints and forms part of Gerlald Ciolek’s sprint train. Off the bike, he collects baseball caps and has a cat named Luna.
