Biography

Hailing from Eritrea, Daniel is a product of the UCI World Cycling Centre. He joins the team off the back of two years in the WorldTour with Orica-GreenEdge. In 2012, he become the first African rider of colour to complete a Grand Tour in the Vuelta a España. Before turning professional, he also spent time as a stagiaire for Cervélo TestTeam. Although visa problems kept him from racing in Europe for most of 2013, he did add one victory to his tally in Prueba Villafranca-Ordiziako Klasika. Daniel is one of the leaders on Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung.

What has been your best moment on bike?
Prueba Villafranca-Ordiziako Klasika 1.1 in 2013 which I won. Tour de L’Avenir 2009 and my national championships 2012
